İmamoğlu announces: New tram for Istanbul! 3 districts will be connected

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu announced on his X account, "We are starting the construction of another new metro line. The Bayrampaşa-Eyüpsultan-Eminönü Tram will connect 3 districts." As part of the project, the journey from Bayrampaşa Square to Eminönü will take 22 minutes.

İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu announced on his X account that a new tram line will be brought to Istanbul.

In his post, İmamoğlu said, "We are starting the construction of another new metro line. The Bayrampaşa-Eyüpsultan-Eminönü Tram will connect 3 districts."

22 MINUTES FROM BAYRAMPAŞA SQUARE TO EMINÖNÜ

Rail Systems Projects Manager Setenay Uludağ said the following regarding the line:

"We have designed the extension of this line from Feshane to Bayrampaşa Square. We have finished the project planning. We have completed the tender preparations. We aim to go out to tender for construction. A passenger departing from Bayrampaşa Square on our tram will be able to reach Eminönü in 22 minutes and the Feshane station, where we are currently located, in 8.5 minutes." 

AN ALTERNATIVE TO PRIVATE VEHICLES

Architect Ayşegül Selman said, "We are providing an opportunity for passengers who have to use private vehicles to use this instead of their private vehicles."

The line will also be integrated with the M1 Airport Metro and the T4 Topkapı Tram.
