In a statement released through the "Presidential Candidate Office" account, which he uses to convey messages regarding current events, İmamoğlu expressed his outrage at the situation.

Regarding the arrest of his Chief of Staff, Kadriye Kasapoğlu, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu stated, "You are torturing a mother who is trying to raise her child alone and who is already under judicial control, simply because she works with me. Release the mothers, do not continue to bear the curse of these children. You will not be able to account for this cruelty, which shakes the heavens, in either world."

İmamoğlu expressed his reaction with the following words:

"You are persecuting people simply because they worked with me.

You are forcibly taking honorable, brilliant people who perform their duties properly, are conscious of working in the public sector, and are loyal to their state and nation from their homes, and arresting them on fabricated grounds.

You are torturing even a mother who is trying to raise her child alone and who is already under judicial control, simply because she works with me. You arrest a mother on her child's birthday, leaving the child all alone.

You detain them repeatedly for a 5-minute statement, keep them in cells for days, and when you cannot find a crime, you invent one; you do not even bother to find a justification.

Our country has never experienced such cruelty, such evil in any period.

Release the mothers, do not continue to bear the curse of these children.

You will not be able to account for this cruelty, which shakes the heavens, in either world.

Ekrem İmamoğlu"
