Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu shared a message on the subject via his Presidential Candidate Office X account.
In his statement, İmamoğlu said, "I pray for God's mercy upon our teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, who lost her life following the knife attack in Çekmeköy.
I extend my condolences to her loved ones, her students, the educational community, and all of Turkey. My heart is heavy and I am deeply saddened. Unfortunately, we are facing a state structure that cannot provide the public order in schools that it also fails to provide on the streets. Providing solutions to fundamental problems such as the safety of teachers, students, and schools will be our administration's priority. Once again, my condolences to us all."
