İmamoğlu: 'I will initiate legal proceedings against those who bring up the diploma lie'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu spoke about the investigation launched into allegations that his university diploma is fake. İmamoğlu stated, "I will initiate legal proceedings at the highest level against the people who bring this lie to the agenda." 

İmamoğlu, who visited Gönül Özdağ, the mother of Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ—who was arrested and sent to prison—alongside Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, said the following: 

"Yet another one of these tragicomic events is being fabricated over a diploma issue. I would like to state here that I will initiate legal proceedings at the highest level against the people who bring this lie to the agenda. They started with forgery, they said he doesn't have a diploma. Fabricated matters with various different excuses."
