"THE ERA OF BETRAYAL AGAINST ISTANBUL IS OVER"

Ekrem İmamoğlu's statement is as follows:

"The era of betrayal against Istanbul is over; Istanbul has millions of guardians.

You opened green spaces, earthquake assembly areas, and military zones to development, granted special zoning rights to certain people, massacred the city, and ruined the traffic. In just 15 years, the rent you provided to certain people from public lands and zoning activities in 130 projects amounts to exactly 85 billion dollars.

The people with whom you ruined the city together are now shamelessly appearing on television and slandering my colleagues.

What is it? My fellow travelers opposed rent-seeking projects. I am glad they opposed them; I am proud of all of them for this stance.

All of my colleagues are guardians of Istanbul; they oppose and will continue to oppose every act that betrays this city.

The era of rent you provided to a handful of people is long over. By bringing those who slander us onto television, you have also registered yourselves as a handful of profiteers."
