New message from İmamoğlu: 'I am counting the days until we, as a nation, send this handful of people away'

He was arrested and sent to the Marmara Closed Prison in Silivri after being detained as part of a 'corruption' investigation launched against him. İmamoğlu, who has frequently shared messages with citizens since the day he was arrested, has made another new post. 

"I want you to know that with my sincere prayers, I am counting the days, the ballot box, and the election when we, as a nation, will send away this bad, handful of people as soon as possible," said İmamoğlu, adding, "We will send away the one person who sees every path, including violating the rights of others during Ramadan, as permissible; we will send him away at the ballot box." 

İmamoğlu wrote the following:

"I greet you by saying our nation is great. 

May the mercy, abundance, justice, spirit of unity, and the understanding of human empathy of the month of Ramadan be upon you. 

In the name of being a social state and in the name of justice, announcing that the evils upon us will end and good days will come; I want you to know that I am counting the days, the ballot box, and the election when we, as a nation, will send away this bad, handful of people as soon as possible—whoever they may be—who cause persecution and difficult days for our country, our nation, our retirees, our youth, our laborers, and the business world; with my sincere prayers.

In the evening, I listened to the song “Yiğidim Aslanım” (My Brave Lion) from the voices of our nation, hundreds of thousands, in Saraçhane, Istanbul. Thank you very much…

I would like to issue a warning from here. For a while, I had the opportunity to look at the pro-government channels, especially TRT, which broadcasts with all of our taxes, for the first time in my life as much as I did last night. It is a complete disgrace, lies, slander; attacking honor and dignity. How can grown people be so bad without shame? I will make all of them, all these liars, sycophants, and those who violate the rights of others during the month of Ramadan, pay for it, and as long as I live, I will seek my legal rights. I swear!

We will solve all these problems. There is only one person who created this atmosphere and makes us live through it. We will send away the one person who sees every path, including violating the rights of others during Ramadan, as permissible—not to govern Turkey from behind closed doors in Ankara, but to protect his seat—as a nation; we will send him away at the ballot box.

We will be one, we will be great, we will be alive. We will succeed. I invite everyone to break their fast at the Saraçhane iftar table this evening with my Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel. I will also be at the iftar table while watching you, and I will pray.
