New Year's message from İmamoğlu with plenty of messages and economic references: 'Equal and fair'

TBB and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu shared a video on his social media account expressing his wishes and feelings for the new year.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu said in his New Year's message, “May 2025 be a happy, healthy, safe, equal, and fair year where society is not polarized, trustees are not discussed, women, stray animals, and children live safely; and no one thinks about ‘how will I make ends meet at the end of the month.’”

Ekrem İmamoğlu stated the following:

“2024 was a quite turbulent year for both our country and the world, filled with uncertainties at times. As a country, we experienced one of the most difficult years in our history economically, and unfortunately, we continue to do so.

Conflicts and wars in our immediate vicinity were unfortunately among the most important agenda items of the world this year as well. Our greatest wish is for all these negativities to be left behind with the new year. We hope that the bloodshed in Palestine and Ukraine will stop, and that a fair and stable environment will be established for everyone in Syria.

May wars, conflicts, and polarization come to an end as soon as possible. I hope that 2025 will bring more democratic, freer days to Turkey, and more prosperous days in every aspect, especially the economy.
