İmamoğlu reacts to investigation permit for Mansur Yavaş! 'The one who will remove you from that seat...'

CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained at Silivri Prison, has issued a new statement through his lawyers.

Stating that "The government has been openly punishing our nation for two years because it made the CHP the leading party," İmamoğlu reacted to the investigation permit issued for Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.

İmamoğlu said, "These operations cannot move Mayor Mansur, President Ümit, or any soldier of our party a single millimeter from where they stand. We are shoulder to shoulder with our nation; there is no other power we rely on. The nation is great, and what the nation says will happen!"

The full text of İmamoğlu's statement is as follows:

"The government, having lost hope in the support of the nation, continues its practices aimed at completely suffocating democracy.

Our Ankara Provincial Chair, Mr. Ümit Erkol, was also arrested on absurd charges.

The government has been openly punishing our nation for two years because it made the CHP the leading party.

Their main fear is seeing that they will lose the next general election. That is why they do not feel the need for even the smallest element of logic.

The permit to open an investigation into Mayor Mansur Yavaş is the most obvious example of this.

These operations cannot move Mayor Mansur, President Ümit, or any soldier of our party a single millimeter from where they stand.

We are shoulder to shoulder with our nation; there is no other power we rely on. The nation is great, and what the nation says will happen!

The one who will remove you from that seat is the nation; they will remove you one way or another."
