Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Republican People's Party presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been detained at Silivri Prison for approximately three months, reacted strongly to Israel's attacks on Iran. İmamoğlu emphasized that threats to regional peace can only be overcome through diplomatic means.

İmamoğlu's statement was shared with the public through his official social media account, used under the name "Presidential Candidate Office." Stating that Israel has violated international law, İmamoğlu used the following expressions:

“I condemn the attack carried out by Israel against Iran this morning, which threatens the stability of our region and violates international law. The failure of the ongoing diplomatic talks between the US and Iran could lead to irreversible consequences for our region. All countries in the region, especially Turkey, must intervene immediately together with the international community; a search for a solution must be initiated without escalating the tension, and diplomatic channels must absolutely be kept open.”
