A video compiling statements made by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the economy and inflation since 2018 was shared on the social media account of CHP's detained presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Criticizing the government's economic policy, İmamoğlu wrote in the note accompanying the video, "From 2018 to 2026... You are like a truck with failed brakes. You have been unable to stop inflation for 8 years," he stated.
