Tugay recounted the dialogue that took place between Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu during a broadcast he attended on KRT.

Speaking about the meeting of mayors held at the beginning of July following the second round of the presidential elections, Tugay said, "Mayor Ekrem took the podium. He gave a long speech and made us all feel the pain he was experiencing."

Tugay explained that İmamoğlu looked at Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and said the following:

"We are people who should not lose. We are the right people. We are hardworking people, we are people who love this country. Why are we losing this election? I do not want to lose any more elections in Turkey from now on."

Cemil Tugay continued his speech by saying, "He said it so sincerely that, frankly, I felt deeply connected to him right there. Mayor Ekrem has a determination to be successful.

He has an effort to have his own preferences accepted regarding the people he will work with in Istanbul, and that is his right."
