İmamoğlu shares picture of his room in Silivri: 'Our glorious flag is hanging'

CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu shared a picture of his room in prison.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Republican People's Party (CHP) presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu sent a meaningful message from Silivri Prison, where he is being held. In a post on his social media account, İmamoğlu stated that he had drawn his room in the prison and that his friends had illustrated this drawing.

In the picture shared by İmamoğlu, the Turkish flag hanging on the wall of his cell drew attention. With this post, İmamoğlu delivered a message of national unity and solidarity.

İmamoğlu's message was as follows:

'I drew my room, and my friends illustrated it.

Our glorious flag is hanging on the wall of my cell.

I reiterate my call to all of Turkey. Let our Turkish Flag be in homes, workplaces, villages, cities, cars, and on phones until May 19. Let the symbol of our national sovereignty be everywhere.'
