As new names and allegations emerge daily in the fake diploma and e-signature scandal, particularly sharp criticism is coming from the opposition over the scandal.
İmamoğlu also posted a reaction in connection with these scandals.
Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor currently held in Marmara Prison in Silivri, responded to the fake diploma agenda by recalling the annulment of his 35-year-old diploma.
Ekrem İmamoğlu, referring to remarks he made in a speech before entering prison, used the words: 'the truth of what I said has been laid bare.'
In one of his speeches regarding the diploma annulment process, İmamoğlu had said: "The mindset that annuls a diploma from 35 years ago will descend on your field tomorrow, will seize your title deed tomorrow, will annul your diplomas tomorrow."
İmamoğlu, posting through the Presidential Candidacy Office account, recalled the annulment of his 35-year-old diploma and stated the following:
"The bold thief turns the tables on the homeowner.
Those who dared to annul my diploma — as lawfully earned as my mother's milk — have apparently been engaged in every kind of fraud themselves.
I said the people's property, possessions, and everything they own were under threat — the truth of what I said has been laid bare.
This is the tip of the iceberg; this incompetent and incapable administration has rotted the centuries-old institutions of our state.
FOR EVERYONE
JUSTICE FIRST!
FREEDOM FIRST!"
