İmamoğlu speaks from Silivri: 'The era of stagnation imposed on our country by the Erdoğan mentality will end'
In a statement made through his lawyers on his social media account, the imprisoned Ekrem İmamoğlu drew attention to Turkey's problems, stating: "The solution is an election. That ballot box will eventually be set up, no one will be able to escape it, and the nation will never allow any contrary intention. When the ballot box is set up, those who think that results change when they conduct operations against political actors will see that it is the nation itself that is determined to send them home. The era of stagnation imposed on our country by the Erdoğan mentality will end, and this dark order will come to an end!"

CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been held in Silivri Prison since March 23, 2025, has made a new statement.
Drawing attention to the cabinet changes made by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, İmamoğlu stated that the newly appointed ministers harshly criticized the previous term as soon as they took office, and expressed that constant changes in education policies create confusion.
Giving examples from the Ministry of Interior, İmamoğlu said that the increasing operations and images reflected in the public eye in the new period are noteworthy. He stated that the new ministers' statements criticizing their predecessors have raised the question in the public eye of "has the government changed?"
Making assessments regarding the Ministry of Justice, İmamoğlu noted that the newly appointed figures used rhetoric targeting the past term. He expressed that this situation has created a different perception in the public eye.

New exam system, new curriculum, new textbooks, confusing practices, nonsense! A minister who tears down his predecessor and his drivel... You would think the government has changed.
However, it is still the AK Party's dark order; the country,...
At the end of his statement, İmamoğlu said 'the solution is an election' and noted the following:
"Our Dear Nation;
Our pain is great, our issues are significant, and our troubles are indescribable. As the government failed to manage the problems, it tried to buy time by changing ministers and selling hope for all these years. But the sea has run dry. The nation now wants total change.
This government, however, is afraid of the ballot box; it knows it will lose. It trembles at the name and presence of its opponent. Yet, we have tens of millions of citizens who will not bow down, will not give up, and will not abandon the national will. The solution is an election. That ballot box will eventually be set up, no one will be able to escape it, and the nation will never allow any contrary intention. When the ballot box is set up, those who think that results change when they conduct operations against political actors will see that it is the nation itself that is determined to send them home. The era of stagnation imposed on our country by the Erdoğan mentality will end, and this dark order will come to an end!
Everything will be very beautiful!"
