The prosecution statements of İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu have emerged. In his initial statement, İBB Mayor İmamoğlu said, "A process filled with MASAK reports that will go down in history as a black mark has been experienced. This process has damaged Turkey's reputation." Regarding the 'corruption' investigation, İmamoğlu stated, "The fact that Turkey has been made to pay a heavy price, that people have been made unhappy and restless, and finally, that the rights of others were violated during the month of Ramadan, has weighed very heavily on me and my nation."

While rejecting all accusations in his statement, İmamoğlu said, "I will not bow down to this judicial harassment; our nation knows very well how I have defended my rights throughout my life."

In his statement to the prosecutor regarding the 'terrorism' investigation, İBB Mayor İmamoğlu said the following in summary:

As a person who has been in detention for 4 days, a process has been experienced that will go down in history as a black mark, based on investigations that are hollow, filled with fabricated questions that cross the boundaries of morality, and whose strongest foundation is tied to the statements of secret witnesses, and filled with MASAK reports containing erroneous findings just 3-5 days before the detention. This process has damaged Turkey's reputation.

"ONE DAY BEFORE THE DETENTION..."

The 6 fabricated cases created before being taken into custody, the request for nearly 30 years of imprisonment, the diploma canceled by Istanbul University, and the investigation personally notified just one day before the detention aimed at closing down daycare centers are proof of these people's malicious intentions.

"I WILL NOT BOW DOWN"

As someone who has always expressed the Anatolian culture, who is committed to the unity and integrity of the state, who was raised in Trabzon, who has fought through legal means throughout his life as a democrat who never forgets the principle of Atatürk's legacy, 'Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation,' which enabled a child to become the Mayor of Istanbul, I will not bow down to this judicial harassment; our nation knows very well how I have defended my rights throughout my life.

"MY FAITH IS GREAT THAT OUR NATION WILL WAGE THIS STRUGGLE FOR JUSTICE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL"

Our nation tells everyone who violates rights to their face on the street; I have expressed everywhere that I will defend my rights throughout my life. I am voicing my principle of 'I do not violate rights, and I do not let my rights be violated' with the great wisdom of our nation, and I am giving voice to my nation. With this principle and my faith, I state that my faith is great that our nation will wage this struggle for justice at the highest level. These slanders will hit the walls in the hearts of our nation and bounce back.

"IT HAS WEIGHED VERY HEAVILY ON ME AND MY NATION"

In his statement regarding the 'corruption' investigation, İmamoğlu said the following;

"The fact that Turkey has been made to pay a heavy price, and in addition, that people have been made unhappy and restless, and finally, that the rights of others were violated during the blessed month of Ramadan, has weighed very heavily on me and my nation.

I have sworn that I will continue my struggle on legal grounds until the end of the life God has given me against those who do not choose the right method and who carry out practices that will stain my honor and dignity, and against those who prepare these reports."
