Regarding the re-election of Ozgur Celik as CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair, CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate Imamoglu stated, "We will stand firm like steel against complete lawlessness."

The CHP held its extraordinary congress in response to the 38th Istanbul Provincial Congress being canceled by the court and Gursel Tekin being appointed as the trustee to the Provincial Chairmanship.
The Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance had requested the suspension of the Istanbul Provincial Congress elections, but the Supreme Election Council had announced that it was decided for the Istanbul Provincial Congress to continue.
Despite all this, Ozgur Celik was re-elected as the CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair at the CHP Istanbul Extraordinary Provincial Congress.
Regarding the situation, CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and elected Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem Imamoglu wrote the following:
“We will stand firm like steel against complete lawlessness.
I congratulate my esteemed colleague Ozgur Celik, who was re-elected as the Republican People's Party Istanbul Provincial Chair at the extraordinary congress held today, the provincial administration, and the delegates who strongly demonstrated their will.”
