IMM case: 19 people released during detention review, 11 re-arrested: Here are their statements

Of the 21 people who were arrested as part of the IMM investigation but whose names were not included in the indictment, 19 were released during yesterday's detention review. Following an objection by the prosecutor's office, 11 people were re-arrested within 24 hours. The statements of the 11 re-arrested individuals have emerged.

In the IMM investigation, 19 individuals for whom no indictmenthad been prepared were released yesterdayevening following a detention review. The court stated as the reasonfor the release that the evidencewithin the scope of the file had been collected and that detention at this stage would be disproportionate.it stated.

Following the release decision,a notable development occurred at the gates of Silivri (Marmara) Prison. 11 of the individuals expected to be releasedwere subject to arrest/detention warrants issued following the prosecutor's objectionto the release order,leading to their detentionat the prison. upontheir release, they were taken back intocustody. The names taken intocustody were re-arrested following their statements.

According to the report byHalktv,the CHP PM member Baki Aydöner's brotherBulut Aydöner, following the release decision, pointed to the approximately 24-hour period of uncertainty and the re-detentionprocessandnotedwhy theystated that they could not understandwhy they were subjected to such treatment.

Aydöner stated in their testimony, "I want to know why I have been subjected to this torture for 24 hours, whywas I released? Why was I taken into custody for 24 hours?I was held in conditions even worse than prison? Previously in the case where we weredetained, we do not know what we are accused of due to theconfidentialityorder. The inconsistency of the person whomentioned my nameis obvious; the employee who made the sale is not being questioned, only the confessoris.I am being held in detention based on the statement of. ReWould a person taking a bribepaymentsthrough official bank accounts? pay? I have a 72-yearold father and mother. I was arrested as a victim of politics. For 6-7 months, every day of the weekIthey are crying. Yesterday they were cryingout of joy, today they are cryingout of sadness; how will we be cleared of these sighs? We are being persecuted out of fear of a candidate for a seat. I am staying in a murder ward with people who have committed murder, and I do not want to be in the same environment again,” he said.

Engin Gönül, in his statement, said, "Why were we released yesterdayand why was an arrest warrant we did not understand what was happening. What we have been experiencing sinceyesterday, I still do not understand...I am living through 7 months I could never have imagined,” while Onur Gülin said, “I was released at the hearing we attended yesterday,why I was taken intocustody again,I cannot make sense of the decision,” he stated.I cannot make sense of the decision,” he stated.

Gülin's lawyerdescribed what happened asfollows:After we received this decision (release), we went to the prison, and until one-thirty in the morning

we waitedfor therelease procedures to be completed.We were expecting the client to be released... While we were waiting... we were informed that there was an arrest warrantThe decision came out in the morning, anda re-arrest warrant was issued in the evening. Wecould not understand what changedwithin8 hours."

The couple Arzu Can and Savaş Can were also among thosewho were re-arrested.

Arzu Can stated, "I have a 14-year-old son. My husband is also in custody... My childis receiving psychological support," she said. Her lawyer added, "For six and ahalf months,the mother and father have been intake them insidethey were... We are talking about a child who was left on the street... He is a child prone to suicide. The childhas a fear of earthquakes and cannot stay without his mother and father,” he said.

Doğukan Arıcı, in his statement, said, "I have been staying in the drug ward for about 4 months, I am psychologically in a very bad state,” he said while being helddescribed what they experienced in the ward.

The 11 individuals who were released andtaken intocustody were re-arrested following their statements.
