IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan attended the August 30 Victory Day ceremonies

Official ceremonies were held in Istanbul for the 104th anniversary of the August 30 Victory Day. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan attended the programs held at the Republic Monument in Taksim and on Vatan Avenue.

As part of the celebrations, the first official ceremony took place at the Taksim Republic Monument. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, 1st Army and Istanbul Garrison Commander General Bahtiyar Ersay, and IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan laid wreaths at the monument. The ceremony concluded with a moment of silence for the martyrs and the singing of the National Anthem.

Following the official ceremony, a second program was held where non-governmental organizations and political parties laid wreaths at the Republic Monument. In his statement here, Aslan emphasized that August 30 is a symbol of the struggle for independence and freedom.

“Happy August 30 Victory Day! May the souls of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms rest in peace. Your will to carry this trust into the future with confidence and the enthusiasm you carry are our greatest assurance. May the 104th anniversary of our Victory Day be happy and auspicious for our entire nation!”

PARADE ON VATAN AVENUE

After the program in Taksim, Gül, Ersay, and Aslan moved to the Istanbul Governorship to attend the reception held for August 30 Victory Day. The final official ceremony of the day took place on Vatan Avenue.

Gül, Ersay, and Aslan boarded the ceremonial vehicle and greeted the public accompanied by a military band. Citizens attending the event accompanied the parade with Turkish flags and applause.

The program continued with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's August 30 message was also read at the ceremony. The event concluded with a parade of military units.
