IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat hospitalized
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat was taken to the hospital due to severe chest pain and spasms, as a precaution against a potential heart attack. Polat had previously received a total of 6 stents at different times due to blockages in his coronary arteries.

IMM Deputy Secretary General Polat, who was arrested last year as part of the 'urban consensus' investigation into the IMM and subsequently released due to health issues, had returned to his post in April.
It was noted that Polat, who underwent his third angiography in February 2025 and was taken to the hospital for a check-up while in prison in March 2025, continues to be under medical observation.
