Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu delivered a speech at the Enstitü İstanbul İSMEK Instructors Summit.

İmamoğlu reacted to staged footage regarding malfunctions in IETT buses and work carried out via artificial intelligence ahead of the local elections.

"SHOWING SOMETHING THAT DID NOT HAPPEN AS IF IT DID..."

İmamoğlu said the following:

"I think it is useful to say this especially to a group of educators. Because the most important share of the enlightenment of society rests on you. But unfortunately, we see it today. We are faced with an understanding that uses such interesting methods, such as recording a moment of an accident that did not happen or a broken bus, or translating the words İmamoğlu spoke using artificial intelligence to broadcast them with the intention of contributing to promotion. This is saddening.

On one hand, we understand that the method put forward by the current understanding or the understanding taking steps to come to power is only this: To smear, to disparage, to belittle, or to show something that did not happen as if it did."
