IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu asks MHP and AKP the 'Ahmet Türk' question: He makes an Ahmet Özer reminder

Referring to the meeting between the İmralı delegation consisting of DEM Party members and Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, İmamoğlu reminded that Ahmet Türk, who was part of the delegation, was welcomed with state protocol. İmamoğlu said, "If there is a link to terrorism, why are you welcoming him with state protocol?" and added, "It is exactly the same as what our professor Ahmet Özer experienced."

Referring to the rehabilitation works in the Esenyurt Haramidere region, İmamoğlu stated the following:

"The place we are currently in is Haramidere, where a large part of this investment was made. So why was an investment of nearly 10 billion made here? We are standing right in the heart of such a center to describe the mentality before us.

It has never been seen anywhere else in the world; they decided to change the flow area of a stream bed and build a neighborhood. In the section just above, it would flood every time it rained and people would die, and they would talk about it as if it were fate. 

We rehabilitated the stream here, carried out the expropriations, and presented a large park worthy of Esenyurt to the service of our nation."

"THEY HAD PUT ON THEIR BOOTS AND PUT ON A SHOW HERE"

Alluding to former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu putting on his boots and going to the region after the flood disaster in Esenyurt in 2022, İmamoğlu said, "The representatives of the mentality that created the problem had put on their boots and put on a show here after a rain that fell right in the middle of the work we are carrying out here. I said at the time that I do not put on my boots to put on a show after the rain. I said I put on boots to start a project before the rain, so that the flood does not disturb those people when it rains. Well, this nation sent that friend home and made the understanding we advocate the ruling power in this district," he said. 

Touching upon the visit of the DEM Party's İmralı delegation to Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş and MHP leader Bahçeli, İmamoğlu emphasized that the situation of the imprisoned Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer and the DEM Party's Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk, who was replaced by a trustee, is the same. 

"HE TOOK PART IN THE STATE PROTOCOL"

İmamoğlu stated the following:

"What happened yesterday? Mr. Ahmet Türk, whom our state dismissed as a terrorist, met with the Parliament Speaker, who is second in our state protocol. 

Afterwards, he came together with the chairman of the party that is the partner of the alliance governing our state.

"IT IS THE SAME AS WHAT OUR PROFESSOR AHMET ÖZER EXPERIENCED"

In other words, the state accepted a mayor it had dismissed as a terrorist within the scope of state protocol. This means that Ahmet Türk is a reputable person. In our opinion, he is already, but you look and see that just yesterday, a month ago, you wrote 'terrorist' in big letters on the ministry's website, and a trustee has been appointed in his place to manage Mardin. If he is a reputable person, why did you appoint a trustee by calling him a terrorist? If there is a link to terrorism, why are you welcoming him with state protocol? This absurdity that happened yesterday is the same absurdity that happened in Esenyurt. The situation they put our state in yesterday is exactly the same as what our professor Ahmet Özer experienced."
