IMM provides update on May 1st transport restrictions: Additional services added

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has provided information regarding suspended services and closed stations in accordance with the restrictions imposed by the Istanbul Governor's Office for May 1st.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has provided information regarding services that will not operate and stations that will remain closed on May 1st Labor Day, in accordance with the restrictions imposed by the Istanbul Governor's Office.

NO BOARDING OR ALIGHTING AT CERTAIN METROBUS STOPS

As per the decision of the Istanbul Governor's Office, IETT will not be able to allow passengers to board or alight at the Çağlayan, Mecidiyeköy, and Zincirlikuyu metrobus stops.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES WILL BE ORGANIZED

Bus lines will continue to operate as planned. To mitigate potential congestion caused by road closures, 65 vehicles will be on standby for 520 additional services.

The changes to public transport services by IMM for May 1st, within the scope of the Istanbul Governor's Office restrictions, are as follows:

TRANSPORT NETWORKS TO BE CLOSED TO TRANSPORTATION BY GOVERNOR'S OFFICE DECISION

As of 05:30 on Wednesday, May 1, 2024;

1. The M2 Yenikapı – Hacıosman metro line stations of Vezneciler, Haliç, Taksim Square, Şişhane, Osmanbey, Mecidiyeköy, and Gayrettepe-Zincirlikuyu (including all entry and exit points) will be closed to service.

2. The Kabataş-Taksim Square Funicular line will not operate.

3. There will be no Nostalgic Tram services on Istiklal Avenue.

4. The Funicular line between Tünel Square and Karaköy will not operate by the decision of the Governor's Office.

5. The Taksim, Tarlabaşı, Ömer Hayyam, and Tepebaşı IETT bus stops (in both directions, towards Şişli and Fatih) will be closed to service.

6. All metro stations on the M7 Mahmutbey - Yıldız metro line between Kağıthane and Yıldız (including all entry and exit points) will be closed to service.

7. On the tram line operating between Bağcılar and Kabataş, the Topkapı station will be used as the final stop. Again, by the decision of the Governor's Office, passengers cannot be transported between Topkapı and Kabataş.

8. The Cibali station will serve as the final stop for the T5 Eminönü - Alibeyköy tram line. Passengers cannot be transported between Cibali and Eminönü. 9. Due to the Governor's Office decision, the Çağlayan, Mecidiyeköy, and Zincirlikuyu Metrobus stops will be closed to service in both directions.

REGULATIONS ALSO MADE FOR CITY LINES

The City Lines General Directorate announced;

As of 05:30 on Wednesday, May 1, 2024;

1. In accordance with the Governor's Office decision, it will be possible to transport passengers and vehicles from the European side to the Anatolian side.

However, passengers and vehicles cannot be transported from the Anatolian side to the European side between the "Beşiktaş-Kabataş-Karaköy-Eminönü piers and Harem-Sirkeci".

2. Reciprocal services to the Princes' Islands will continue.

3. Services to the Eyüpsultan side will continue, but services to the Balat, Beyoğlu, Sütlüce, and Hasköy coastal areas will not be able to operate by the decision of the Governor's Office.

VEHICLE PARKING BAN

As of 05:30 on Wednesday, May 1, 2024;

In accordance with the decision taken by the Istanbul Governor's Office, parking lots operated by İspark in Taksim, Şişhane, Kabataş, Mecidiyeköy, Şişli, Saraçhane, Beşiktaş Square, and the vicinity of Dolmabahçe will be cleared. Vehicle parking will not be permitted.

Furthermore, in the districts of Beyoğlu, Beşiktaş, Şişli, and Fatih, vehicle parking will not be permitted on any streets or avenues leading to Taksim Square or in the immediate vicinity starting from the night before.
