Public transport decision from IMM for May 29
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will celebrate the 572nd anniversary of the conquest of Istanbul on May 29 with various events. Public transport will be free for Istanbulkart holders on that day. A concert in Saraçhane, free visits to the Panorama 1453 History Museum, and special conquest-themed tours for the weekend await Istanbul residents.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has made public transport vehicles free of charge on Thursday, May 29, to celebrate the 572nd anniversary of the conquest of Istanbul. According to the statement by IMM, holders of a “Personalized Istanbulkart” will be able to benefit from public transport vehicles affiliated with IMM that are included in the integration free of charge.
Various events will also be organized as part of the conquest celebrations. A march will be held from Edirnekapı to Saraçhane on May 29. Following the march, a concert featuring the band “Yüksek Sadakat” will be held in Saraçhane. On the same day, the Panorama 1453 History Museum will be open for free visits.
For free entry, it will be necessary to present an ID card in addition to showing the QR code located in the “Transactions” tab of the Radar Türkiye application.
Conquest-themed tours will be held over the weekend. Istanbul residents will take a journey through history with the “Anadolu Hisarı Museum Tour: The Starting Point of the Conquest” and the “Rumeli Hisarı Construction Site Tour: The Seal of the Conquest”.
CELEBRATIONS WILL CONTINUE OVER THE WEEKEND
The excitement of the celebrations will continue over the weekend. On Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, the “Anadolu Hisarı Museum Tour: The Starting Point of the Conquest and Rumeli Hisarı Construction Site Tour: The Seal of the Conquest” will take place. Applications for the tours, which will be held in two rounds, can be made via the Istanbul Senin application.
On Saturday at 18:00, a talk titled “Istanbul Enlivened by the Conquest: Fatih’s Vision for Istanbul” by author Mustafa B. Bozkurt will take place at the Sıbyan Mektebi located in the Turşucuzade Mansion in Sultanahmet, followed by the “Songs for Istanbul” concert by the IMM Turkish Classical Music Ensemble. Children's events will be held at the IMM Saraçhane Park starting from 12:00 on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1.
