IMM responds to 'concert spending' investigation with a table: AKP's expenses revealed

The investigations launched into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, and Beykoz Municipality, citing 'concert spending' as the justification, continue to be a subject of debate.

Murat Ongun, advisor to IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, shared a 'Total Events Expenditure Report' that compares the Ekrem İmamoğlu era with the AKP era.

According to the report, the costs of events during the AKP era were as follows:

2015: 70,483,843 dollars

2016: 109,508,837 dollars

2017: 130,637,187 dollars

2018: 126,970,213 dollars

In the report, the event expenditure for 2019 was determined to be 95 million dollars by the administration during the AKP era.

For the final 6 months of the year under Ekrem İmamoğlu's administration, the year-end realization was stated as 59 million.

The realization costs of events during Ekrem İmamoğlu's term were recorded as follows:

2020: 42,586,309 dollars

2021: 37,104,612 dollars

2022: 48,484,517 dollars

2023: 82,048,633 dollars

2024: 85,551,763 dollars

The report stated that 437 million 600 thousand dollars were spent on events during the 4-year AKP period, while 295 million 775 thousand dollars were spent on events during the 5-year Ekrem İmamoğlu period.

İmamoğlu's advisor Murat Ongun stated, "Auditing and inspection in the public sector are indispensable.

The expenditure items are the same. Given this difference, we leave it to the public conscience that all inspections and investigations are being conducted only for this period."
