IMM takes action: Demolition at illegal farm frequented by AKP members
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has begun demolition work at the "King Farm," which was built illegally on 25 hectares of forest land in Şile and is alleged to be linked to the Şahinler gang. The farm included a hotel, restaurant, cafe, and zoo.

According to a report in BirGün, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has begun demolition at an illegal farm built on forest land by Gökhan Göz, whose alleged ties to the Şahinler gang have been the subject of prosecutor investigations.
MUNICIPALITY'S OPINION REQUESTED
The General Directorate of Forestry sent an official letter to the Şile Municipality during the period it was governed by the AKP. The letter stated that “it is planned to establish a forest park with accommodation on a 25-hectare area in the Karamanderesi region of Şile” and requested the opinion of the Şile Municipality.
In its response to the General Directorate of Forestry, the municipality stated that many illegal structures had been built on the forest land. The municipality's response included the following: “There are unlicensed, illegal structures built after 2020 that encroach upon forest areas in the location where the forest park is planned to be established. Based on complaints received regarding the parcels in question, it has been determined by our municipality that a detached house, a pool, and a horse farm have been built.”
IMM TAKES ACTION
Furthermore, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Department of Reconstruction and Urbanization sent a letter to the Şile Municipality on October 25, 2023. The IMM requested that “a criminal complaint be filed with the prosecutor's office, infrastructure services be cut off, and the demolition process be carried out” regarding the illegal structures. However, no action was taken regarding the structures, which were built at the cost of a fortune.
Following this, IMM teams took action yesterday and began the demolition process at the farm, which is called “King Farm.”
ŞAHİNLER GANG CONNECTION
It is known that the farm, built in defiance of the law, belongs to Gökhan Göz. Göz, known for his closeness to Sedat Şahin, the leader of the Şahinler group—one of the country's largest organized crime syndicates—built a hotel, swimming pool, restaurant serving alcohol, cafe, and zoo on the 25-hectare forest land under the name “King Farm.” It is stated that there are “more than 500 animals” in the zoo.
Göz also hosted many AKP members at his illegal farm and businesses, which were essentially money-making machines despite being sealed. On Göz's website, there are many photos of him with the former AKP Mayor of Çekmeköy, Ahmet Poyraz.
