Important statement from Russia regarding Turkey-Syria relations
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov evaluated the process regarding the normalization of Turkey-Syria relations. The Russian minister noted that Moscow will actively encourage the rapid resumption of the negotiation process between the two countries.

Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan within the Russian Federation, hosted the BRICS summit last week.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov answered questions from Hürriyet newspaper following the summit.
Evaluating Turkey-Syria relations, Lavrov stated that negotiations stalled after the Damascus administration insisted on the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Syria and Turkey proposed addressing this issue at a later time.
He described Moscow's efforts to revive the process.
Lavrov stated, "Differences of opinion that emerged in the positions of Damascus and Ankara caused the negotiation process to pause. Since signals have come from both capitals that there is serious interest in restarting the dialogue, we will actively encourage the rapid resumption of the negotiation process."
Lavrov emphasized that Russia has been consistently making efforts to eliminate the disputes between Damascus and Ankara.
"THERE WILL BE NO WINNER IN THIS CONFLICT"
The Russian minister also evaluated Israel's attacks on Gaza and the escalating tension in the region.
Stating that the inability to find a solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict has led to a new wave of violence, Lavrov said, "We call for avoiding steps that will lead to further escalation of violence and the situation spiraling out of control. There will be no winner in this conflict."
TURKEY'S ROLE IN THE UKRAINE WAR
In his assessment regarding the Ukraine war, Lavrov stated that they appreciate Turkey's efforts toward a solution. However, he pointed out that Turkey continues its military-technical cooperation with Ukraine.
Claiming that Turkish weapons are being used to kill Russian military personnel and civilians, Lavrov said, "Considering the statements by the Turkish administration regarding their readiness to provide mediation services, it is impossible for this situation not to cause bewilderment."
RELATIONS WITH BRICS
Russian Minister Lavrov also expressed that they welcome Turkey's interest in moving closer to BRICS. Turkey participated in the BRICS summit in Kazan.
Lavrov said, "I am confident that Turkey has the strength to make a significant contribution to the further development of BRICS"
