İnan Güney sends first message from Silivri!

Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney, who was detained and arrested in the 9th wave of operations targeting Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, shared his first message after being sent to Silivri Prison.

PUBLISHED A HANDWRITTEN MESSAGE

CHP İstanbul MP Yüksel Mansur Kılınç visited Güney in prison. During the visit, Güney conveyed a message he had written by hand, addressed to the CHP Beyoğlu organisation and the public, through Kılınç.

İnan Güney emphasised in his message that the struggle will continue. Here is İnan Güney's first message from Silivri:

Dear Friends…

On the path of public service I set out on — saying that Beyoğlu's rights are entrusted to us — we worked hard, accomplished much, and produced a great deal in a year and a half. Aware of the responsibility we bear toward those who trusted us, we did not let them down. The road will go on; our lot is to struggle on the road to Silivri's dungeons, and yours is to struggle on the road to liberating the country.

With my belief that we will prevail, friendly greetings to you all.

Dear Beyoğlu Organisation…

My fellow travellers with whom I walked street by street, avenue by avenue through Beyoğlu, and shed sweat alongside…

We succeeded together, but the road continues.

On this road, our part is to stand tall in Silivri's dungeons, and yours is to strengthen Beyoğlu by working and serving steadfastly in the streets and in the field.
