Following the resignation of Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Güzel from the CHP, a new development has occurred. After CHP council members Murat Uzun and Uğur Gökdemir, Nevzat Cebeci has also resigned from his party.
In Beykoz, following the resignation of Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel, CHP council members Murat Uzun and Uğur Gökdemir had also announced that they were leaving the party.
Another CHP council member, Nevzat Cebeci, has also resigned.
Cebeci included the following statements in his resignation post:
"During my political work under the roof of the Republican People's Party (CHP), I gained significant experience alongside my valued colleagues. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for the support and contributions given to me during this process.
Unfortunately, in the roles I have undertaken with patience and resilience until today, I have witnessed that some individuals and mindsets within the party have displayed divisive rather than unifying, and destructive rather than constructive attitudes. The prioritization of personal agendas instead of representing the party is incompatible with the fundamental values of the CHP.
At this point, I inform the public that under the current conditions, I cannot continue my council membership under the CHP roof and that I have resigned from party membership.
This decision is an inevitable result of the processes I have experienced and the realities I have seen. By keeping the interests of Beykoz and the people of Beykoz above all kinds of political agendas, I will continue my duty as a Beykoz Municipal Council Member with the same determination."
