Increase in support for pufferfish hunting
With the decision published in the Official Gazette and entered into force, the amount paid to support pufferfish hunting has been increased.

According to the decision, a support payment of 25 liras per piece will be made to fishermen who hunt pufferfish, and 10 liras per piece to those who hunt other species.
Previously, this amount was 12.5 liras and 2.5 liras, respectively.
With the incentive program implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry since 2020 to combat pufferfish, approximately 185 thousand pufferfish have been collected in four years.
Thus, the entry of approximately 14 million pufferfish into the ecosystem has been prevented.
