Increase in the lowest pension accepted

The legislative proposal raising the lowest pension to 16 thousand 881 TL has been accepted and enacted in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Discussions were held in the TBMM General Assembly on the "Draft Law on Amendments to Certain Laws and Decree-Law No. 375," and at the end of the discussions, the proposal was accepted and enacted. Accordingly, the lowest pension will be increased from 14 thousand 669 TL to 16 thousand 881 TL. Furthermore, to be promoted to the rank of lieutenant general or vice admiral, it will be required to be a combat-class general or admiral who has successfully completed the command and staff training at the force war institutes. The age limit for generals and admirals appointed as force commanders will be 67. The age limit for force commanders may be extended by the President for one-year periods up to the age of 72. For combat-class personnel holding the ranks of major general, rear admiral, brigadier general, and commodore, the requirement to have successfully completed the command and staff training at the force war institutes in order to be promoted to lieutenant general or vice admiral will not be sought. Personnel who have completed their war academy education will be considered to have successfully completed the command and staff training at the force war institutes.

With the proposal, the revolving fund enterprises of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks will continue their activities as Revolving Fund Enterprises of Nature Conservation and National Parks. The Ministry of Labor and Social Security will be able to establish revolving fund companies. A total of 100 million TL in capital will be allocated to the companies covered by this article. The working hours of civil servants and contracted personnel working in youth centers, youth offices, dormitories, camps, sports facilities, athlete training centers, Turkish Olympic preparation centers, and other units within the Ministry of Youth and Sports will be determined by the Ministry. Additionally, workers employed in accommodation facilities granted a tourism operation certificate by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be able to use their entitled weekly holiday upon their written request or within four days following the day they become entitled to it.
