Incredible reaction to signature campaign from Deputy Interior Minister Turan! 'Let's close down the CHP with a signature too'

Deputy Interior Minister Bülent Turan criticized the signature campaign launched for CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, saying, "Can a person be released through a signature campaign? Should we also launch a campaign to have the CHP closed down? Is that how it works?"

Deputy Interior Minister Bülent Turan went to Karabük for various contacts and visits. Attending a meeting held at the Karabük Governor's Office within the framework of the Animal Protection Law, Deputy Minister Turan reminded that the new law imposes responsibilities on municipalities, stating, "We want there to be no stray animals on the streets. It introduces some special provisions, such as municipalities allocating a share from their 0.5 percent budgets, expanding shelters if they exist, or building them if they do not."

"HE IS HOLDING RALLIES, SAYING WE WILL FIGHT"

Following his visit to the Governor's Office, Turan visited his party's Karabük Provincial Headquarters and criticized CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in his statement there.

Turan noted the following:

"The man said yesterday, 'Are you ready for war?' Is this something to say? He is holding rallies, saying we will fight. Are you on enemy soil? Who are you fighting against? People would tell a man like that to take off his uniform. Is this what you call opposition? Does this contribute to Turkey's democracy, politics, or development? There can be political polemics, competition, and debate, but what does war mean? What does calling people to the streets mean? The street is a sign of helplessness, of incompetence. What is the Group Deputy Chairman for? What are group meetings for, what are rallies for, what is the parliamentary floor for? What does it mean to call people to the streets? What have we seen? What have we been through? We have no fear. But it is a pity for the country. Remember, when Mr. Erdoğan was imprisoned, did he say 'take to the streets'? He said 'be patient'. He said 'we will walk together'. Erbakan Hoca's party was closed down. Did he say 'take to the streets'? Adnan Menderes was hanged. Did Menderes say 'take to the streets'? Can one say 'take to the streets' in the face of every legal process, in the face of every court decision?

I am one of those who know Mr. Özgür best. We served together for ten years. Mr. Özgür has no other claim right now than trying to secure his own political position. He has no concern for Mr. Ekrem, nor for the CHP. It is only about solidifying his own seat. There is work he does to look appealing to his own base. There might be a narrow, marginal group within his own base. Can this be the party that Atatürk founded and that grew Turkey? What is being done right now is nothing more than Mr. Özgür's attempt to secure his own seat."

INCREDIBLE REACTION TO SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN

Criticizing the signature campaign launched for CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, Turan said, "For God's sake, can a person be released through a signature campaign? Let us also launch a campaign to have the CHP closed down. Would that work? Let a trustee be appointed to the CHP. Give us the signature campaign. Would that work? Everything has its own etiquette and procedure," he said.

Criticizing the CHP's boycott calls against certain brands, Turan stated, "They tried to organize a boycott. Is there even a single foreign brand? Can there be such a mentality? A man who boycotts blindly, and when asked why he did it, says 'I don't know'—this party cannot walk the path with such a person. We will all see Mr. Özgür's political lifespan together," he expressed.
