The indictment has been completed in the investigation conducted into Bolu Municipality. The indictment for 19 suspects, including the detained Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, has been sent to the court.
The indictment was prepared by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as part of an investigation into bribery, extortion, fraud, and violation of the Law on Foundations at Bolu Municipality. The indictment, prepared for 19 suspects including the detained Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan and Deputy Mayor Süleyman Can, was approved by Chief Public Prosecutor İbrahim Cansever and sent to the Bolu 3rd High Criminal Court.
It was learned that the 178-page indictment includes the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the General Directorate of Foundations, and the Ministry of Interior as "plaintiff/complainant institutions."
It was stated that the investigation evaluated various allegations of irregularities regarding the use of public resources, municipal transactions, and foundation properties by the suspects. It was noted that a decision on whether the case will proceed will be made following the court's review process of the indictment.
On the other hand, it was learned that the suspects' defenses regarding the investigation process are also included in the file. The trial process is expected to begin in the coming days.
