The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an ex officio investigation into journalist Alican Uludağ over posts made on his X account, citing charges of "publicly insulting the president," "publicly disseminating misleading information," and "insulting judicial bodies."
Uludağ, who was detained at his home in Ankara as part of the investigation, was arrested on February 20 by the Istanbul 9th Criminal Court of Peace on the charge of "insulting the president."
INDICTMENT COMPLETED: 3 CHARGES
The indictment against Alican Uludağ has been completed and submitted to the court.
The indictment, prepared against Uludağ on the grounds of "publicly insulting the president, publicly disseminating misleading information, and publicly insulting the government of the Republic of Turkey and the state's judicial bodies," was sent to the 26th Criminal Court of First Instance, and a public lawsuit has been initiated.
