Individual enters pitch and pushes Ali Koç to the ground: Attacker in custody

Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç was pushed from behind and knocked to the ground by an individual who entered the pitch during a scramble as Koç was returning from the protocol area, where he had gone to assist Fenerbahçe away fans who were unable to enter the stadium. The attacker was apprehended by security personnel.

During the match where Fenerbahçe was the guest of Göztepe, Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç went to the sidelines to be with the yellow-navy fans in the stands before the second half began, at which point foreign objects were thrown at him from the stands.

It was learned that Koç had gone to the stands because some Fenerbahçe fans were not being allowed into the away section.

INDIVIDUAL WHO ATTACKED ALI KOÇ IN CUSTODY

Approximately 5 minutes after the second half began, Ali Koç left the away section and was walking along the sidelines when he was knocked to the ground after being struck by an individual with an accreditation card.

Koç later got up from the ground and returned to the protocol tribune.

The individual who struck Ali Koç has been taken into custody.

IDENTITY OF THE ATTACKER REVEALED

It was stated that an official named Fatih Özkan pushed Ali Koç, who had entered the pitch during the second half of the Göztepe – Fenerbahçe match to go to the Fenerbahçe stands and was knocked down while returning.

It was announced that Özkan is not an official executive at Göztepe, but merely an employee.
