Neither public service announcements nor warning messages are stopping fraudsters who identify themselves as police officers or prosecutors. The day before yesterday in Şişli, a fraudster who called a person named H.S. and identified themselves as a police officer and prosecutor, convinced H.S. over the phone with the lie that their identity information had been seized by a terrorist organization, and had them deposit the 473 thousand TL in their account into their own accounts.

After hanging up the phone, H.S. went to the Şişli Police Department and filed a complaint, stating that they had been defrauded. Upon this, teams from the Istanbul Public Security Branch Office's Fraud Bureau launched an investigation and took Mikail C., the owner of the account to which H.S. had made the EFT transfer, into custody.

26-year-old Mikail C., who has a police record for 10 separate crimes, will be referred to the courthouse following his interrogation.
