Individuals detained for distributing flags in Taksim on Atatürk Commemoration Day
Six women who were distributing Turkish flags and soliciting money from citizens in Taksim on November 10, Atatürk Commemoration Day, were caught red-handed following surveillance by police teams. The suspects were fined a total of 5,862 TL.

In Istanbul's Taksim square, on the November 10 Atatürk Commemoration Day, 6 women distributed Turkish flags to citizens exiting the metro and subsequently demanded money.
While the suspects were collecting money under the guise of "donations" by showing images of sick individuals on their phones, citizens noticed the situation and reported it to the police.
Acting upon the reports, the tourism police initiated physical surveillance of the women.
The 6 suspects, who were caught red-handed shortly after, were issued a total of 5,862 TL in fines for unauthorized fundraising and misleading citizens.
