Inflation figures announced: The gap between TUIK and ENAG remains wide

January inflation figures have been announced. According to the independent Inflation Research Group (ENAG), annual inflation was reported at 81.1 percent, while January inflation was 8.22 percent. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), annual inflation was 42.2 percent, and January inflation was 5.03 percent.

TUIK SAYS 'FELL', ENAG SAYS 'ROSE'

According to TUIK, the item with the highest increase was health expenditures. The inflation rate in health peaked at 23.57 percent. In clothing and footwear, which ENAG reported as a record high, TUIK recorded a decrease of 5.17 percent.
