According to a report by BirGün, the inheritance disputes that began between the sons of Menzil Community leader Abdulbaki Elhüseyni following his death on July 12, 2023—Muhammed Saki, Muhammed Fettah, and Muhammed Mubarek Elhüseyni—have escalated into a conflict.

Tensions between community members in Istanbul's Sancaktepe district over the division of an area referred to as a "dervish lodge" (dergah) quickly turned into an armed clash.

FOUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS INJURED

It was reported that four people were injured during the clash. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals by medical teams called to the scene. Police teams took extensive security measures in the area and began an investigation at the scene.

Following the incident, a social media post from accounts close to Muhammed Saki Elhüseyni stated, "The bullets fired were not aimed at the 'sofis' (disciples) there, but at the entire Ummah of Muhammad. The day will come when this account will be settled."

Another statement alleged that the person who carried out the attack was a community member affiliated with Muhammed Fettah Elhüseyni, and included the following remarks:

"They were shot by bullets from the weapon of someone affiliated with the criminal Muhammed Fettah Elhüseyni. Our brothers are in good condition. You must absolutely avoid actions that will raise tensions. The police have taken that terrorist away; the state will do what is necessary, and we trust our state."
