Initial assessment of President Erdoğan's visit to the CHP

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who visited the CHP Headquarters for the first time in 18 years, met with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Following the meeting, Ömer Çelik made statements at the AKP Headquarters. 

Ömer Çelik's statements are as follows; 

Our President expresses the need to strengthen the ground for dialogue in politics instead of polarization. 

It is gratifying that this picture has emerged in political life with the return visit that took place today. 

Our Chairman believes that this picture should turn into lasting gains. 

He stated that the steps that need to be taken for Turkey to get rid of the coup constitution must be taken with the requirement of the broadest political consensus. 

He stated that the process of achieving a new constitution, which is Turkey's debt to future generations, should be carried out with a responsibility and perspective that considers Turkey's future.

Naturally, the economy was also on the agenda during this meeting.

Our President stated that the gains achieved with the Medium-Term Program (OVP) and the 12th Development Plan will be protected.

They expressed Turkey's commitment to this program by not resorting to any populism. It is about the need to avoid populist rhetoric. What is needed is not populism, but realism.

The performance of the far-right in the European Parliament elections shows that Europe is unfortunately facing challenges regarding hostility toward Turkey and Islamophobia.

Our President expressed the sensitivities of the parties in Turkey regarding acting together.

Another important issue is the 'terroristan' that the Syrian branch of the PKK is trying to create in that region. We assess that terror hubs will bring this back to the agenda at the first opportunity.

We are approaching the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation. Our President expressed that a strong show of unity should be displayed together with Özgür Özel.

We aim to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the peace operation all together.

GAZA

Increasing our dialogue regarding the recognition of the Palestinian state. Within this entire framework, our President has a sensitivity regarding developing a common policy for the future of Turkey, both in terms of the economy and political issues, and developing a common stance on every subject.

He also stated that opposition parties should fulfill their responsibilities for this economic issue to be maintained on a realistic ground.

Our President and Chairman has a sensitivity regarding developing a common policy on political issues, including domestic and foreign policy matters. 

APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES

Our stance on the appointment of trustees is clear. 

We will support every mayor who supports the nation, regardless of which party they belong to. Our stance as the government to support this is clear.

However, if the authority is used to support a terrorist organization, this will definitely not be allowed. 

There were places where trustees were appointed, as well as places where they were not, within the same political party. Each issue is evaluated on its own merits. 

If they are using the support they received from the nation for the nation, there is no problem in this regard. 

In this regard, our President and Chairman stated that all political parties should show sensitivity. They brought these messages to the agenda in this meeting. 

As our President expressed, one should not act with a wholesale approach. If they are using the authority they received from the nation to serve the nation, there is no problem.
