Inspections continue: 348 irregular migrants rescued in 4 days
The Coast Guard Command continues its inspections at sea. In just 4 days, teams rescued 348 irregular migrants, 147 of whom were children, who had set out on a journey of death in rubber boats off the coasts of Aydın, Muğla, and İzmir.

Coast Guard Command teams continue their inspections at sea. Irregular migrants who set out on a journey of death in rubber boats are being rescued either during these inspections or following reports made to the Coast Guard.
In the last 4 days alone, 348 irregular migrants were rescued off the coasts of Aydın, Muğla, and İzmir. It was learned that 147 of them were children.
HERE ARE THE 4-DAY IRREGULAR MIGRANT APPREHENSIONS
On April 7, 2024, at 15:25, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in life rafts off the coast of Bodrum, Muğla, a total of 52 irregular migrants (including 20 children) in 3 life rafts, who had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, were rescued by Coast Guard boats (TCSG-901, KB-110) assigned to the scene, and 2 suspected migrant smugglers were apprehended.
On April 7, 2024, at 06:50, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in a life raft off the coast of Çeşme, İzmir, 19 irregular migrants (including 10 children) in a life raft, who had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, were rescued by the Coast Guard boat (KB-117) assigned to the scene.
On April 7, 2024, at 08:15, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in a rubber boat off the coast of Karaburun, İzmir, 16 irregular migrants (including 11 children) in a rubber boat, who had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, were rescued by the Coast Guard boat (TCSG-35) assigned to the scene.
On April 7, 2024, at 16:50, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in life rafts off the coast of Kuşadası, Aydın, a total of 32 irregular migrants (including 5 children) in 2 life rafts, who had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, were rescued by the Coast Guard ship (TCSG-81) and Coast Guard boat (KB-108) assigned to the scene.
On April 8, 2024, at 08:00, upon receiving information that a rubber boat carrying irregular migrants off the coast of Kuşadası, Aydın, was drifting due to engine failure and that a request for assistance had been made, 28 irregular migrants (including 19 children) in the rubber boat were rescued by the Coast Guard ship (TCSG-81) assigned to the scene.
On April 9, 2024, at 07:05, upon receiving information that a rubber boat carrying irregular migrants off the coast of Çeşme, İzmir, was taking on water due to adverse weather conditions and was in danger of sinking, and that a request for assistance had been made, 44 irregular migrants in the rubber boat were rescued by the Coast Guard boat (TCSG-30) assigned to the scene.
On April 9, 2024, at 23:45, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in a rubber boat off the coast of Fethiye, Muğla, the moving rubber boat was stopped by Coast Guard boats (TCSG-27, KB-39) assigned to the scene, and 21 irregular migrants (including 18 children) inside were apprehended.
On April 10, 2024, at 06:45, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in a rubber boat off the coast of Bodrum, Muğla, 20 irregular migrants (including 9 children) in a rubber boat, which had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, were rescued by Coast Guard boats (TCSG-1, KB-35) assigned to the scene.
On April 10, 2024, at 00:05, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in a rubber boat off the coast of Selçuk, İzmir, the moving rubber boat was stopped by the Coast Guard boat (KB-108) assigned to the scene, and 15 irregular migrants (including 9 children) inside were apprehended.
On April 10, 2024, at 23:50, a moving rubber boat detected by the Coast Guard boat (TCSG-7) on duty off the coast of Kuşadası, Aydın, was stopped, and 23 irregular migrants (including 14 children) inside were apprehended.
On April 10, 2024, at 03:00, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in the Yağcılar area of Urla, İzmir, 7 irregular migrants (including 2 children) were apprehended on land in a joint operation by the Coast Guard Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Team and personnel from the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Station Command.
On April 10, 2024, at 10:18, upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants in life rafts off the coast of Kuşadası, Aydın, a total of 23 irregular migrants (including 19 children) in 2 life rafts, who had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, were rescued by Coast Guard boats (TCSG-21, KB-108) assigned to the scene.
On April 10, 2024, at 22:40, a moving rubber boat detected by the Coast Guard boat (TCSG-30) on duty off the coast of Çeşme, İzmir, was stopped, and 36 irregular migrants inside were apprehended.
On April 10, 2024, at 06:30, upon the detection of a group of irregular migrants in a rubber boat by a Coast Guard aircraft (TCSG-552) on duty in Kuşadası, Aydın, the moving rubber boat was stopped by the Coast Guard boat (TCSG-21) assigned to the scene, and 22 irregular migrants (including 11 children) inside were apprehended.
