The architect of the new peace process, which the government calls a 'Terror-Free Turkey', MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, made evaluations regarding the process in an interview he gave the day before to the pro-government Sabah Newspaper. Bahçeli stated,

Bahçeli, "The first wing of peace has been realized by Öcalan. For peace to take flight, there must be a second wing. Turkey's issue is peace and tranquility. Everyone has a responsibility. The PKK has taken on this responsibility, and the legal parties in Turkey must also take on at least as much responsibility as the PKK." he said.

Retired Colonel Orkun Özeller reacted to these statements by Bahçeli. Emphasizing that the terrorist organization PKK has not laid down its arms, Özeller said, "Anyone who says the PKK terrorist organization has laid down its arms is a fraud; they are an enemy of the Turkish soldier who does not speak out against the ongoing drone attacks. If the PKK has laid down its arms, let's go walk around in Metina and Gara. You frauds." he stated.

The response from the MHP front to these words by Özeller was not delayed. Burak Kılıç, the İzmir Provincial President of Ülkü Ocakları, who is among the defendants in the Sinan Ateş murder trial, threatened Özeller in a post on his social media account.

Using insulting language, Kılıç said of Özeller, "Anything can happen to you" and added, "Stopping this cur that barks while foaming at the mouth is very important for ensuring the peace and tranquility of society; the authorities must take measures in this direction." he stated.

At the end of his post, Kılıç "The way to silence him willingly is child's play for us" issued threats.
