Interior Minister Çiftçi: FETÖ's influence through front schools must be completely ended

Recalling the contacts made during his visit to Mongolia, Minister Çiftçi stated that he also met with Minister of Defense Batlut Damba and that the 10th Term Meeting of the Turkey-Mongolia Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETC) was held. Minister Çiftçi said, "On this occasion, we had the opportunity to consult on many issues such as trade, investments, industry, science, technology and innovation, defense industry, education, and agriculture, and we signed a comprehensive JETC Protocol."

Stating that the protocol signed in May is an important roadmap for commercial relations, Çiftçi said, "Through this protocol, we will strive to strengthen our cooperation in every possible field."

Stating that the Mongolian delegation will be shown best practice examples of free zones and relevant institutions as part of their program in Turkey, Interior Minister Çiftçi expressed his hope that the meetings to be held with private sector companies will also contribute to the relations between the two countries.

Stating that Turkey can contribute to Mongolia's goals of expanding its trade portfolio, Minister Çiftçi assessed, "There are strong cooperation opportunities in many fields, especially in mining, logistics, renewable energy, food processing, and light industry."

Expressing that the trade volume between the two countries remains below its current potential, Minister Çiftçi said, "However, when we look at the current structure of our bilateral trade, we see that the trade volume presents an unbalanced appearance in favor of Turkey. The trade volume between our countries has remained below its potential."

"The common goal is to increase the trade volume to 500 million dollars in the near future"

Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi also shared the goal for developing commercial relations, stating, "Our common goal is to increase this trade volume to 500 million dollars in the near future. Your valuable contributions in this regard are of great importance." Stating that Turkey closely follows Mongolia's efforts to attract foreign investors and increase foreign trade, Çiftçi drew attention to Turkey's experience in free zones and said, "Turkey has nearly forty years of experience in free zones. During this process, various models shaped according to different sectors and regional needs have been developed; production, trade, logistics, and technology-focused free zones have been successfully implemented."

Reporting that Turkish firms have investments worth approximately 25 million dollars in Mongolia, Çiftçi explained that the firms are carrying out successful projects in various sectors, especially construction, energy, and tourism. Emphasizing that Turkish firms are ready to take a more active role in Mongolia's development projects, Çiftçi expressed his expectation for support for the involvement of Turkish companies in the new airport included in the New Karakorum City project, as well as energy plants, treatment facilities, and railway projects within the scope of the "14 Mega Projects."

Stating that they are ready to develop cooperation in matters falling under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior, Minister Çiftçi said, "We believe there are significant opportunities to develop our cooperation in areas such as border management, combating irregular migration, and cybersecurity, primarily in disaster and emergency management and public security."

Touching upon the importance of increasing direct contacts and information sharing between institutions, Minister Çiftçi stated that rapid and concrete progress can be achieved in these areas.
