Minister Çiftçi, in a statement on his social media account, said, "Our dear nation, the investigation and inquiries regarding the heinous attack carried out against our police officers on duty in front of the Yapı Kredi Plaza Blocks in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, are being conducted in a multi-faceted and meticulous manner by our relevant units. Within the scope of the investigation, 2 more people assessed to be connected to the individuals who carried out the attack have been apprehended.
Efforts are continuing with determination to clarify all dimensions of the incident and to uncover the perpetrators and connected elements," he said.
Stating that the surgeries of the 2 police officers wounded during the clash were completed successfully, Minister Çiftçi said, "As a result of the immediate, decisive, and effective intervention of our security forces, the 3 individuals who carried out the attack have been neutralized. I would like to clearly underline this; the Republic of Turkey has not tolerated any threat directed at public order, the peace, and the security of our nation, and it will not do so from now on. Our security units have responded to such attacks without hesitation, without compromise, and heroically; they will continue to respond with the same determination and the same courage from now on," he said.
Emphasizing that efforts are continuing to clarify all aspects of the incident, Minister Çiftçi said, "Every attempt that threatens the peace of our nation will remain ineffective in the face of the unshakeable will of our state.
