Following the events that occurred in Kayseri, Interior Minister Yerlikaya issued a statement regarding posts made on social media accounts.

In the Danişmentgazi neighborhood of Kayseri, a foreign national was caught abusing a 5-year-old child. While the suspect was taken into custody by Special Operations police and removed from the area, a large crowd overturned vehicles belonging to foreign nationals and set workplaces on fire.

Interior Minister Yerlikaya made a statement regarding the content of posts made on social media accounts following the events.

Here is that post by Yerlikaya:

Following the events that took place in Kayseri on the evening of June 30, 2024, approximately 343 thousand posts were made from about 79 thousand accounts on the social media platform X.

It was determined that 37% of the accounts making posts were BOTS; and 68% of the posts were provocative and negative in nature.

An investigation has been launched into 63 accounts. 10 of these have been referred to the prosecutor's office; proceedings for the others are ongoing.

We will not tolerate those who threaten the peace and security of our country, make provocative posts, or engage in hate speech.
