Intoxicated individual in Bursa threatens police, saying 'Pick a spot on the map!' and 'I know a prosecutor'

In Bursa, the driver of a car stopped by police on suspicion was found to be intoxicated. The intoxicated passenger in the vehicle, upon learning that the car would be impounded, threatened the police by saying, 'I know a prosecutor' and 'Pick a spot on the map.' The intoxicated individual was taken to the police station to provide a statement, and the traffic officers filed a complaint against him.

An intoxicated individual caused a difficult situation for police teams on Mudanya Boulevard in the Osmangazi district of Bursa.

Around 04:30, traffic teams on patrol grew suspicious of a car with the license plate 16 Y and pulled it over. The driver, B.Ç., blew into the breathalyzer and was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.69 promille. Mustafa E., an intoxicated passenger in the vehicle, became angry that the car was being impounded and walked toward the police officers.

"PICK A SPOT ON THE MAP"

Angered by the impounding of the vehicle, Mustafa E. suddenly walked toward the teams and began hurling insults. When a traffic officer told him to "watch your mouth," the intoxicated Mustafa E. threatened the police, saying, "I won't," "Pick a spot on the map," "It's clear where you're going to end up," and "I know a prosecutor."

When asked by a journalist, "Who are you swearing at?" Mustafa E. replied, "The police officer," before being neutralized by the teams. Public security units arrived at the scene, took the resisting Mustafa E. into custody, and transported him to the police station.

Following the incident, the traffic officers filed a complaint against Mustafa E., and a total fine of 38,931 Turkish Lira was issued to the driver and the passenger for various violations. Additionally, a knife was seized during a search of Mustafa E. It was learned that the processing of Mustafa E. at the police station is ongoing.
