Investigation completed: Confiscation of 31 assets belonging to the Polat couple requested

The examination by the Istanbul Anatolian 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance regarding the indictment prepared as a result of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into 16 suspects, including Dilan Polat, her husband Engin Polat, and her siblings Can and Sıla Doğu, is ongoing.

The indictment requested the confiscation of 31 companies included in the scope of the investigation, as well as all real estate, vehicles, and similar assets owned by these companies, and for their ownership to be transferred to the public. 

Furthermore, the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested that Dilan Polat be sentenced to 27 years in prison for the crimes of establishing an organization, laundering assets derived from crime, and illegal betting. 

DETENTION CONTINUES

The 4th Criminal Judgeship of Peace decided that the detention of Dilan Polat, Engin Polat, Sezgin Polat, Ahmet Gün, and Alper Kürşat Polat shall continue. On the other hand, it was ruled that Sıla Doğu and Can Doğu, who were also detained within the scope of the same investigation, would be tried without arrest. These defendants, who have no other ongoing detentions, were released from prison.

DETAILS OF THE INVESTIGATION

The investigation was launched following allegations of money laundering against social media influencer Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat. In the indictment prepared by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was requested that Dilan Polat be tried for the crimes of establishing an organization, laundering assets derived from crime, and facilitating illegal betting. In this context, a 27-year prison sentence is being sought for Polat.
