The statements made by former MHP MP Olcay Kılavuz regarding the allegations against him, following his phone conversation with Tolgahan Demirbaş—one of the suspects in the murder—had caused debate within the MHP, and subsequently, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli terminated Olcay Kılavuz's position as a Parliamentary Group Advisor.
According to a report by Seyhan Avşar from Halktv.com.tr, it has now been alleged that Olcay Kılavuz, a key figure in the Sinan Ateş murder, has fled abroad. Kılavuz's wife, Kadriye Kılavuz, denied the claims of him fleeing.
However, it has emerged that there is no travel ban on Kılavuz, who is under investigation for the crime of "premeditated murder."
THE CHARGE IN THE INVESTIGATION DOCUMENT PREPARED FOR KILAVUZ IS 'INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE'
In the document in question, proceedings were initiated against Kılavuz for the crimes of "premeditated murder" and "intentional homicide," and authorization for an investigation was requested.
However, while it was learned that no travel ban was imposed because Kılavuz was a member of parliament at the time the incident occurred, the reason why a ban was not imposed after his parliamentary immunity was lifted remains unclear.
