The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into MP Turan Taşkın Özer on the grounds that he made posts on his social media account regarding the 'criminal organization' investigation into Ekrem İmamoğlu, alleging that a false witness was being sought and that some witnesses were being forced to give false testimony.
It was determined by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office that on March 26, MP Turan Taşkın Özer made posts on his social media account regarding the 'criminal organization' investigation into the suspended and detained Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, claiming that a false witness was being sought, that some witnesses were being forced to give false testimony, and that witnesses were being threatened.
An ex officio investigation has been launched into Özer regarding the aforementioned post on charges of 'publicly disseminating misleading information' and 'publicly insulting judicial bodies'.
