Recep Solugan, a CHP member and delegate in the Bornova district, filed a complaint with the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, alleging that CHP Bornova District Chair Ertürk Çapın and CHP Provincial Vice Chair Zeki Çağın took money from him in February 2024 under the guise of a "donation" in exchange for making him a municipal council member.
In his complaint petition, Solugan claimed that he met with Çağın in a vehicle last February and stated, "A payment of 50 thousand liras was made to Zeki Çağın in cash.
Although Zeki Çağın received this amount he requested, he did not provide me with any receipt.
Later, he constantly stalled and avoided giving a receipt regarding the payment," he said.
Following the allegations of Solugan, who also filed a complaint with the Presidential Communication Center (CİMER), the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Çağın and Çapın.
