Investigation into CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress deepens! Tuncay Yılmaz gives testimony

As part of the investigation into the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, Tuncay Yılmaz, the General Manager of İmamoğlu Construction Company, who is currently detained in connection with a 'corruption' investigation into the İBB, has provided testimony. In his statement to the prosecutor's office, Tuncay Yılmaz explained that he has been working as the general manager at İmamoğlu Construction Inc. since 2016 and that the owners of the company are Ekrem and Hasan İmamoğlu.

Yılmaz also stated that İmamoğlu has another company called SSB Real Estate Inc., which handles real estate leasing transactions, and that he also holds a management position in that company.

"I DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY PARTY ACTIVITIES"

Stating that he is not a member or delegate of the CHP, Yılmaz noted that he did not attend the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, adding, "I did not participate in any of the party's activities. I have no knowledge or information regarding the allegations of providing benefits to certain party representatives or irregularities during the congress."

Denying witness statements claiming that he provided market cards and cash to certain delegates before the congress, Yılmaz made the following statement:

"All the matters mentioned in the witness statements are slanderous and untrue. I was absolutely not involved in any such organization. I have no organic relationship with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality or its subsidiaries. For this reason, I have no information regarding the alleged issues. I also have no information about the market cards that were allegedly distributed. İmamoğlu has never made any request for me to support his political activities. I do not accept any of the accusations leveled against me."

Yılmaz requested that a decision of "non-prosecution" be issued regarding his case.

Meanwhile, the process of taking statements from individuals, including Ekrem İmamoğlu—who was arrested as part of the 'corruption' investigation and removed from his post as Mayor of Istanbul—continues. To date, witness statements have been taken from 36 people, and 78 people have provided statements as suspects.

Furthermore, it has been learned that if sufficient evidence is found regarding the 9 members of parliament whose names were mentioned in witness statements during the investigation, summaries of proceedings (fezleke) will be prepared for the crimes of "violating the Law on Political Parties" and "laundering assets derived from crime."
